NORTHWEST HERALD, Brittany Keeperman – McHenry County boating popularity was on the rise this summer despite debris woes along the Fox River.

Monday marked Labor Day, which many use to eke out warm weather activities as summer winds down. Waterway officials said the season was a success, despite financial challenges.
