Transition to Summer Pool

April is the transition month from Winter to Summer Operations, IDNR/OWR will be moving from
today’s stage of 2.88 ft to approx. 4.0 ft at Fox Lake near Lake Villa. The increase in stage level at the
Fox Lake will be achieved incrementally with the goal of achieving a summer normal pool of 4.0 ft by
April 15th. This is to accommodate placement of navigational buoys upstream and downstream of the
Stratton Dam prior to the beginning of boating season on May 1. The IDNR/OWR will closely monitor
the precipitation forecasts by the NWS and will make gate setting changes, as necessary, to minimize
potential rainfall impacts.
