Current Conditions

Inflows to the Fox River and Chain of Lakes are rising; the Fox River near New Munster, Wi stage is 12.2′ and the Nippersink Creek near Spring Grove flow is 979 cfs. Fox Lake stage is 4.2′ and rising. The Stratton Dam tailwater stage is 3.8′. The Algonquin Dam tailwater stage is 9.1′

Forecast

The National Weather Service has forecasted 1/2″ of precipitation thru today. Also, the above freezing temperature are thawing the ground which is releasing the soil moisture. The NWS is forecasting Fox River near New Munster, WI will crest at a stage of 15.0′ on March 16. The NWS is forecasting the Fox River Algonquin Dam tailwater will crest at a stage of 10.7′ on March 20.

Operations

All gates at Stratton Dam are opened to pass as much flow as the river will deliver. Our initial estimate shows that Fox Lake will crest near 5.9′ and Stratton Dam Tailwater will crest near 5.4′ on March 20.
